Abstract:
Human Resource Management is suggested as the most significant capability in strategy implementation in order to realize the strategic objective of organization. However, there is a limited number of studies investigating this important connection in current literature especially in the context of SMEs which account for about 90% of total firms in the world. Hence, this article fulfils the current gap by revealing the reality of HRM practices with respect to implementing strategy or strategic HRM in SME context. A qualitative study design involving seven SMEs with three structured interview questions, then discussion were audio recorded, transcribed verbatim and analysed using aframework analysis approach. There are three main themes derived from this interview session, namely leadership, strategy, sources for capital and strong human resource. In the discussion section, all three themes are discussed in detailed. Limitation and suggestion of future study are also briefly discussed as the conclusion of this paper
