Abstract:

this research, new SrMgAl2SiO7:Eu2+ pigment was synthesized via sol–gel method. The phase-forming process and chemical reactions during the synthesis of phosphor were studied by thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction. The luminescent properties of this nanocrystal pigment have been systematically investigated. The main emission peaks appeared at 421 nm is ascribed to the 4f7 H 4f65d1 transition of Eu2+ in the phosphor lattice with color coordination (x = 0.187, y = 0.077). Finally, it was found that the crystallite size of the synthesized powder was about 30 nm by using scherrer equation
