Abstract:
In this paper, a particle optimization (PSO)technique which is a metaheuristic technique, is used for estimating the parameters of a CGAM cogeneration system. Accurate estimation of these parameters is very important for optimal thermoeconomical operations of power plants. The objective function to be minimized is the total operating costs of the CGAM system. The costs of thermal power plants are affected by many parameters such as compressor pressure ratio, combustion chamber inlet temperature, gas turbine inlet temperature, gas turbine and compressor isentropic efficiencies. Furthermore, the higher the accuracy of the estimated parameters, the more accurate the results obtained from the thermoeconomic analysis. Result obtained are compared to those computed by other methodologies. comparison result reveals that PSO is an effective method for the solution of the CGAM problem
