Abstract:
Voltage gated channels (VGCs) are transmembrane proteins that transfer small molecules and metabolites acrossthe membrane. VGCs include sodium, potassium, calcium and chloride channels. These channels play asignificant role in nervous system such as preparing action and resting potential in neurons and normal functionfor neuronal excitability. Epilepsy is a group of neurologic disorders that tied with genetic and characterized byrecurrent seizures. Channels mutation in epilepsy syndromes have identified and studied more with the progressin genetic technologies in the past decades. In this review we study approximately 55 article from ncbi, sciencedirect and google scholar with considering mutations gain or loss of function and molecular basis. We alsoexplain that how these mutation cause epilepsy however this relation is not completely illustrate.
