Abstract:
This study aims at controlling the active and reactive powers ofdoubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) using PI controllers. One ofthe most appropriate types of renewable energies is wind energy. Useof variable speed wind turbines is preferred over fixed speed ones dueto their several benefits. In addition, DFIG is regarded as one of themost efficient generators of the modern world and has vastapplications due to its benefits such as capability of tracking maximumpower with low fluctuations and the ability to independently controlthe active and reactive powers. In this paper, the PI control along withthe vector control is applied to maximize the power of system. Thevector control method makes independent control of active andreactive powers possible and simplifies the equations. With regard tothe considered error criteria (which shows the difference betweenactual and reference powers), the black hole algorithm can yield fastand more accurate results, compared to similar optimizationalgorithms (e.g., particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithms).
