Abstract:
The stress concentration in offshore structures tubular joints depends on joint configuration and loading type. Because of these facts, a lot of effort has been concentrated by many researchers on studying simple tubular joint configuration subjected to different loading conditions: Axial (Ax), In Plane Bending (IPB) and Out of Plane Bending (OPB). This paper presents a new study of different types of tubular joints subjected to these different cases of loading, in addition to a fourth proposed loading called Combined loading (Com).
