Abstract:
Buckling and vibration resonances usually limit the design of the helical springs. In this paper the effect of two geometrical spring parameteres on the buckling loads and the natural frequencies is investigated. A helical spring is modeled in the ANSYS software and the related analyses are done for different values of the effective parameters. Resultant discrete data diagrams of the buckling loads and the natural frequencies with respect to the geometrical parameters have good coincident with the mathematical functions. These diagrams can be used to identify the behavior of helical springs and may be resulted in easier and more accurate design for special purposes.
