Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to estimate the potential Productivity of Energy for two groups of exporting and non-exporting oil countries during the period of 1990 to 2012. For this purpose, energy Productivity in two actual and potential forms in twenty-four countries is investigated in two groups and also a comparative survey of the status of these indicators is done by using the Hodrick Prescott filter. Finally, it is concluded that given the abundance of energy sources in oil exporting countries such as Iran, energy Productivity boosting programs have not been much considered and actual consumption in these countries is at a very high level. But in non-oil exporting countries, energy consumption and final energy productivity are logical and suitable programs to increase energy Productivity has been implemented.
