Abstract:
Researchers achievements in Resin transfer molding (RTM) process have resulted in a rapid growth of the number of RTM applications. hermoplastic melt viscosity is influenced primarily by process temperature and shear rate. It means that by increase melt temperature and of course fast growths of viscosity due to a faster chemical reaction, the curing reaction is accelerated and therefore a higher degree of conversion can be obtained at a given time.Shear stresses developed during mold filling are significant contributor to a part’s residual stress and development of anisotropic shrinkages and its tendency to warp. This paper presents a study that evaluates the relationship of bulk conversions predicted from MPI software with shrinkage of different filler weight fractions.
