Abstract:
This paper proposes a trigeneration energy system to provide the required power-refrigeration effect and power-heating effect for two modes, i.e. summer and winter, respectively. Parabolic trough solar collectors are used as primed mover and simulation of the system is performed using the exergy and thermoeconomic concepts. Moreover, parametric assessment is carried out to assess the exergetic and economic criteria of the system by varying the major design parameters. Simulation results show that energy efficiencies for summer and winter are 5.53% and 36.82%, respectively and exergy efficiencies are respectively 4.15% and 33.05%. The total product cost rates for summer and winter modes are estimated within 1.696 $ /s and 1.096 $/s, respectively. Parametric study shows that in summer the increase of turbine inlet pressure grows the power output within 2.7%.Moreover, the capital investment reduces within 6.7% and 3.6%, respectively
