Abstract:
Nano-size -alumina and magnesia were prepared by sol-gel method from aluminum sec-butoxide and magnesium methoxide, respectively,and after characterization by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has been used as absorbent for distractive absorption of fenitrothion and diazinon (organophosphorus). Absorption of pecidein in hexane was proceed by UV-Vis and 31PNMR spectroscopes. Distractive absorption of aforementioned pesticides by nano-alumina that prepared by sol-gel method and calcined at 500 ºC [NC-Al2O3 (500 ºC)] and 800 ºC [NC-NC-Al2O3 (800 ºC)] were compared with commercial alumina (CM--Al2O3) in micron size. Results Showed that the nano-alumina that prepared by the sol-gel method has much higher tendency for the adsorption of pesticides in comparison with CM-Al2O3 and also NC-Al2O3 (800 ºC). The bonding mode of fenitrothion over NC-Al2O3 and CM-Al2O3 was investigated by infrared spectroscopy and concluded that the absorbed fenitrothion over NC-Al2O3 is mainly mono-dentate in contrast to bi-dentate in the CM-Al2O3
