Abstract:

Coupling renewable energy sources with energy storage facilities for maximizing the operator’s profit has got lots of attention. Specifically, in solar farm (SF) systems, since its inherent volatility in the output production. Moreover, it’s necessary to pair it with a storage system in order to maximize the total profit and prove reliability. Moreover, in this paper a large scale SF coupled with battery storage (BS) system is formulated in order to maximize owner’s profit. Recently, implemented renewable facilities are going to have an exciting impact on power system operation. Another challenging issue for the SF is about its uncertain nature. To do so, storages have been utilized to improve the SF maximize its total profit. BS system is considered in the proposed work in order to shift the SF production in low price periods to high price periods. Moreover, storage system can purchase power from market in low price periods and sold out at high price periods. Whole problem is modeled as a tractable mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and solved using commercial optimization package GAMS.
