Abstract:
We live in an era where politics has become over-personalizedand shows no intention whatsoever towards leading society andthe public domain into ultimate well-being and prosperity.Furthermore, the fact that we find no meaning in what weexperience and the desire to indulge in and the avoidance toquestion it, has led some to postulate the concept of civilization decline. Overall, these factors give way to thedominance of the Dionysian aspect of contemporary civilizationover the pacifist Apollonian one. It seems the only way out of thispredicament is to improve self-awareness and creativity in such away that deviates from usual and prevalent dogmatic (Doxa)styles of thinking and behavior. Is there a category of psychotherapy which possesses a theory anda foundation, beyond its techniques, for contemporary human todeal with above-mentioned tragic condition The answer is ‘No’,if we consider psychotherapy as merely personal and subjective! However, if it is approached, like how James Hillman proposes,as the therapy of ideas, it might become inspiring and effective. To find that, some principles and concepts of DialecticalBehavioral Therapy that will improve human capabilities fordealing with the state of Civilization Decline , such as courage, openness, and wisdom mind, will be addressed.
