Health, climate change, international financial stability, socialand health inequalities between regions and countries are samplesof complex issues that require better coordination among multipleactors at different levels for better global well-being. In thisrapidly changing environment, the term global health diplomacyhas emerged to capture both the system and the method of themultilevel and multi-actor negotiation processes that shape andmanage the global policy environment for health.Global Health Diplomacy (GHD) is the practice by whichgovernments and non-state actors attempt to coordinate globalpolicy solutions to improve global health. The concept of nationsjoining together in the diplomatic fora to tackle public healthproblems is a core principle of GHD. In this context, GHD isdefined as having dual goals of improving health whilestrengthening relations among nations. Today, GHD is viewed asa necessary tool in the practice of modern or smart diplomacy, expanding traditional spheres of economic, political, andmilitary diplomacy.Health challenges now is transcending national borders andbecoming international issues. This highlighted a need for morecoordination in health policy making in global level, the same asdiplomatic coordination. Health policy makers should tackle withhealth issues and risks in international level the same as domesticlevel in today globalized world which diseases passed thecountries’ border.
