The Image of Utopia in the Renaissance

Sir Thomas More and Francis Bacon have both presented their perception of utopian lands through the depiction ofvarious characteristics in Utopia and The New Atlantis, respectively. Such descriptions together with the utopian paintingsof Piero Della Francesca and Fra Carnevale–both entitled as The Ideal City- offer a detailed image of how the concept ofutopia was perceived in the Renaissance period.
