Abstract:
Objective: This study was performed to determine the association of HbS Ab level after hepatitis B vaccination with dialysis sufficiency, chronic inflammation, and nutritional status in hemodialysis patients attending to Booali Hospital in 2016-2017.Methods and materials: In this observational study that was performed as a cross-sectional descriptive-comparative survey, 80 consecutive hemodialysis patients attending to Booali Hospital in 2016-2017 were enrolled and the association of HbS Ab level after hepatitis B vaccination with dialysis sufficiency, chronic inflammation, and nutritional status in them was determined. Results: The results in this study revealed that no response, poor response, and good response were seen in 16.3%, 40%, and 43.75%, respectively. There was no association between HbS Ab level after hepatitis B vaccination with dialysis sufficiency, chronic inflammation, and nutritional status (P > 0.05). Lower BUN and creatinine and higher BMI were related to lack of Ab response (P < 0.05).Conclusions: Totally, it may be concluded that there is no association between HbS Ab level after hepatitis B vaccination with dialysis sufficiency, chronic inflammation, and nutritional status.
