psychometric properties of Anxiety Sensitivity Index 3 ( ASI-3) in non-clinical population of Iran

Anxiety sensitivity, the fear of anxiety consequence, is transdiagnostic construct which has important role in development and maintenance of emotional disorders. Many studies indicate the importance of cultural context in etiology of anxiety disorders. Many measurements develop to assess AS, but psychometric properties of ASI-Index 3 has been proved in many countries, therefore the aim of present study is investigation of psychometric properties of ASI- 3 Index in Iranian population.447 individuals in three different groups participated in this study. The clinical group consisted of52 participants diagnose for one of the anxiety disorders, the control group included 50 participants didn’t diagnose of any emotional disorders. The third groups included 375 student or staff of five universities of Tehran, Iran. Participants completed ASI-Index3, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory and Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale. Three factors model proved by confirmatory factor analysis, The Internal consistency of total score of ASI, and it subscales was good and the test-rtest stability after six months interval was good. Reliability and Internal consistency was approved too. ASIIndex 3 showed acceptable psychometric properties.
