Abstract:

As the location of specialized hospital is in the city centers and high prices of buildings and ground, consequently, the lack of available space, the amount of space allocated to the warehouse is low. Considering this, the necessity of the optimal use of storage space racks is apparent. This paper addresses the allocation of goods with three types of orientation in the shelves, considering their three dimensions, when the layout of the shelves is available. A mixed integer programming (MIP) is presented. In this regard, the information of the warehouse of the medical center of Abolfazl has been used to allocate the consumable items of dialysis in the shelves of the warehouse. This model has been solved by GAMS software. Computational results show that it can provide optimal response in a reasonable time. In addition, a genetic algorithm is also applied, which is used for the large scale of shelves and items that gives near optimal responses.
