Abstract:
Microwave-assisted hydrodistillation (MWHD) , hydrodistillation (HD) andUltrasonic assist with headspace solid phase microextraction (UA-HS-SPME)techniques were carried out for the analysis of volatile components of Stachyslavandulifolia Vahl from Iran. The oils obtained were analyzed by GC–MS. Theextraction time while using the MWHD is no more than 24 min using a microwavepower of 300 W. In the presence of Ultrasonic assist with headspace solid phasemicroextraction (UA-HS-SPME) the highest extraction efficiency was achieved witha 100 μm poly dimethyl siloxane (PDMS) fiber. Different experimental parameterssuch as fiber s coating type, sonication time, extraction time and temperature, anddesorption time were investigated. The major components by three methods of HD,MWHD and UA-HS-SPME were carvacrol and thymol. In the present work wehave isolated essential oils of plant by HD, MWHD and SPME methods from theaerial part of the plant and then compared essential oil contents and discussed typesof extraction methods
