Abstract:
The use of identical pattern in crafts is one of the prominent forms of cultural and historical relationship between nations. One example of this is the similarity of motifs used in Mazandaran handicrafts, with handicrafts from Georgia. having a 3,000-year-old cultural-historical connection with Iran, and a history of the two countries dating back to ancient times. Therefore, this paper aims to identify how the structure and composition of motifs in the two regions of Mazandaran and Georgia can be explored in order to identify common structures between Mazandaran and Georgia. The results of this descriptive-qualitative research show the closeness and relevance of the design and pattern of the Mazandaran handicrafts in Iran to Georgia. This similarity is rooted in the culture and ethnic traditions of the two regions and the economic and commercial exchanges that have provided the basis for the transfer of culture between these two areas. The statistical population used in this study is due to the wide range of handicrafts are including works related to the present era in two areas of Mazandaran province in northern Iran and Georgia in northwest and west of South Caucasus
