Abstract:
A case report of cerebellar hemangioblastoma in Dr.Fatemi Hospital of Ardebil Introduction: Hemangioblastoma is one of the vascular benign tumors of the central nervous system, which is most commonly seen in the cerebellar hemispheres, but Other much less common sites of primary CNS tumors include brainstem and spinal cord. Case report:A 57-year-old male without any family history of hemangioblastoma presented with headache, diminishing vision and increased intracranial pressure. Funduscopy showed bilateral papilloedema. MRI imaging techniques confirm the existence of a tumor in the posterior cranial cavity and cerebellum. The patient s MRI report shows a solid cystoid mass in the left hemisphere of the cerebellum and a vasogenic edema around the mass compressing the fourth ventricle. The patient was undergoing surgery and the tumor was removed and sent to the pathology for final diagnosis. Pathologic results indicate cerebellar hemangioblastoma. Conclusion:The cerebellar Hemangioblastoma is benign tumor, detected by imaging techniques, such as MRI.Surgical resection is the choice treatment for Hemangeoblastoma.
