Abstract:

Mechanical closed loop test rig acts important role in aviation industry. Fault diagnosis in gearboxes and other critical components of the airplane and helicopters is the most important part of this industry. More over testing rotating equipment is very important for system security verification. There are several testing technics and many important testing parameters. One of these essential factors is gearbox security test technic. What’s more, mechanical close loop system is very cost effective method. For financial, energy consumption and maintenance reasons, using a system with the ability of energy regeneration is suggested. In this paper mechanical close loop with energy regeneration mechanism used for test the helicopter gearbox test. Two kinds of controllers are used for keeping the close loop torque in the constant value. The result of paper shows the behavior of PID controller method in controlling the torque circulating in this mechanical close loop. Beside the overshoot and settling time is considerable.)
