Abstract:
The gas-phase hydrogenation of benzene was studied over a Ni/FSM-16 Nano catalyst prepared by impregnation method. The Ni supported on mesoporous silicate FSM-16 showed high and stable catalytic activity for the hydrogenation of benzene at 130-150 °C.Physical properties of this catalyst are characterized by N2 adsorption, H2 chemisorption, and NH3-TPD analysis. Effects of the Ni loaded and the temperature were studied on the benzene hydrogenation with a fix Ni loading of 25 wt% The acid sites of FSM-16 and its surface properties play an important role in the hydrogenation of benzene. It is found that the optimal temperature for this process is 150 °C with the best conversion (100%), selectivity and yield (36%).
