Abstract:
In this research, capacitor is placed to improve reliability and reduce power loss. Objective function is function of power loss and two reliability indices; i.e. Cost of Energy Not-Supplied (CENS) and System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI). This problem has been optimized by Group Search Optimization (GSO) algorithm. The GSO algorithm is one the newest and powerful approaches of swarm intelligence techniques which can be solved the multi objective problems. Simulation has been performed on IEEE test system by introducing several scenarios based on the number of the placed capacitors.
