Abstract:
The present study attempts to review and discuss the status and potential of Isfahan city in utilizing solar energy. In this work, 11 empirical radiation models [33] have been reviewed to predict the monthly mean daily global solar radiation over Isfahan. The models were established using statistical regression techniqueand their accuracies evaluated using the statistical indicators of mean percentage error (MPE), mean bias error (MBE) and root meansquare error (RMSE); and then the best model for Isfahan was recognized. The proposed models are superior owing to theiraccuracy, wherein the relevant coefficients canbe retuned quickly if more data are available. The results of new correlation have been compared with the experimental data and it was found that there is a good agreement between the calculated results and experimental values.
