A Survey on the Employment trend for Women in Iran since 1986 to 2006

Employment paves the way of development in a country. As Iran is a developing country, it is inevitable to use all of the facilities for the progress. An Improvement in social and cultural conditions and education, made an equal situation for women in this progress and their employment. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether women employment has had a progress in years 1986 to 2006 or not And has the education had an impact on women s employment To reach these responses, we used the library research method for the documents. Furthermore Analysis of census data and the Pearson correlation test was used. By analyzing the data, we reached the conclusion that the employment rate for women in Iran during the years 1986 to 1996 has increased. But this amount declined from years of 1996 to 2006 and education alone will not help to increase employment. There are Differences between women living in urban and rural areas in access to employment which has been examined in the paper.
