Geometry Effects of an Oscillating Wave Surge Converter on its Energy Absorption

In this study six different shapes for oscillating wave surgeconverter are introduced and their energy absorption in aspecific wave is investigated. This research is done bynumerical simulation of a typical wave flume that operatesin six seconds and the transferred energy is absorbed byeach OWSC. Due to using structured grid mesh, simulationof different shapes is fairly fast. The results show thatgeometry of OWSC plays a significant role in energyabsorption. The effect of restoring force and power take offsystem is also investigated by considering the forces as abody force in numerical simulation.
