Abstract:

In this study, the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction between diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate anddibenzoylmethane has been studied in the presence of triphenylarsine as a catalyst with respect to the concentration, solvent, temperature, ionic strength, surfactant and structure. To detect the effect of ionic strength on the reaction ratesome salts was used. The best performance was in the presence of potassium iodide salt that rate of the reaction was 6.8-fold faster. Moreover, the effect of cationic, nonionic and anionic surfactants on the reaction rate was investigated thatanionic surfactant (sodium dodecylsulfate) has the significant decrease on the rate of the reaction. The kinetic data wereprovided the reaction order, kinetics values (kovr and Ea), activation parameters (ΔH≠, ΔS≠and ΔG≠), the ratedeterminingstep (RDS) and the proposed mechanism.
