Abstract:
A new Schiff-base compound Ternary Cu (II) complexes of Schiff - base tyrosine amino acid derivativesand phnan trotline hetrocycle (A) was synthesized and the interaction between this Schiff base and bovine serumalbumin (BSA) was investigated by fluorescence and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies. A marked decrease inthe fluorescence intensity of BSA was observed upon addition of Schiff base when excitation wavelength was set at295nm. Based on the fluorescence quenching calculation, the quenching constant (Kq), apparent quenching constant(Ksv), binding constant (Kb) and binding site number (n) were obtained. The quenching mechanism was suggested asstatic quenching according to the Stern–Volmer equation. In addition, .the infrared spectra of BSA in the absent andpresent of Schiff base was studied.
