Abstract:

In this study, the inhibitory effect of a Schiff base compound (Salcn) on carbon steel corrosion in NaCl 3.5% solution was studied. For this aim, electrochemical techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization , weight loss (WL), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and linear polarization resistance (LPR) tests were used. It was shown that, the Salcn Schiff base has a remarkable inhibition efficiency effect on the corrosion of mild steel in in3. 5% NaCl solution.
