Abstract:
This paper shows an efficient adaptive filter, to suppress impulse noise from X-ray images.This method has two levels. Firstly, according to the intensity, the pixels are categorized intothe two groups, which are pixels containing noise and intact pixel, the noisy pixels that havebeen modified should be processed and the others will not be changed. Infract, the size ofwindow is changing and this may maintain the edges. Two facts are taken into considerationthe number of intact pixels and the noise level. The outcome from 200 images reveals that thisfilter is promising for noise removal.
