Typo-morphological Approach to Understanding Urban Form of Lefke City in Northern Cyprus

Urban morphology is the study of human settlements, their structure and the process of their formation and transformation. It is the study of urban forms, and the agents and processes responsible for their transformation, and that urban form refers to the main physical elements that structure and shape the urban tissues, streets (and squares), urban plots, buildings, to name the most important. The theme of urban form is very important in urban studies. Urban morphology is used within many fields of study and professional practices, such as; geography, urban design, city/ town planning, architecture, heritage and building conservations, landscape architecture, archaeology, anthropology, and urban history. In this study, the architectural and geographical dimension of urban morphology will be discussed to address the physical issues. The main aim of this study is to analyze the urban morphological character in the Lefke City of Northern Cyprus. Thus, the origin of urban morphology based on geography at the planning level and architecture at the typological level will be explored
