Investigation of THF Hydrate Formation Kinetics in presence of MCM-41 nanoparticles abstract
The essence of this work is investigation of the kinetics of hydrateformation in presence of MCM-41 nanoparticles. The experiments wereconducted in an atmospheric pressure cell with a mass/volume fractionof 0.004%, 0.016%, 0.04% and 0.2% of MCM-41 nanoparticlesapplying THF hydrate former. The temperature of THF-H2O solutionwas recorded during test. In fact, the temperature rise associated withhydrate formation was used for kinetics studies. Furthermore, the moleof formed hydrate and rate of formation can be easily estimated bytemperature method. The results of temperature variation indicatedthat the growth of hydrate was enhanced by an increase in theconcentration of nanofluid to the specific concentration.
