The study of systematic joint pattern around the Konarsiah and the Mangerak salt domes, Fars province abstract
Joint pattern plays an important role in analyzing regional tectonics and in studying of the path of ground water flow. Studying these structures especially around the salt domes which are the sources of ground water contamination is much more important. In this research, systematic joints seen around the Konarsiah and the Mangerak salt domes, SW Fars, have been studied in twelve stations and their patterns before tilt correction have been compared with those after tilt correction. Also, the joints of five stations in Asmari Formation and four stations in Sarvak Formation have been separately rotated to the average of the strike of jointed layers, and tilt correction is applied to each of them. The results indicate syn-tectonic formation of joints pattern along with evolvement of folding in the region
