Effect of Mesoporosity on the Catalytic Performance of SAPO-31 in the n-Heptane Hydroconversion abstract
Microporous SAPO-31 and the mesoporous silicoaluminophosphate (MESO-SAPO-31) were synthesized using microporous synthesis precursors of SAPO-31 and characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption, and NH3-TPD techniques. MESO-SAPO-31 possesses uniform mesoporosity, high surface area, pore-volume, and more acidity. Thecatalytic performance of samples was investigated for hydroconversion of n-heptane in a fixed bed reactor in the temperature range of 350-550°C in atmospheric pressure and WHSV=1.5. The catalytic evaluation revealed that nheptane conversion was enhanced over two catalysts, but the selectivity of the mesoporous catalyst to isomerizationand aromatization products were higher than the microporous catalyst.
