Multi-functional Controllable Rectifier with Hybrid Power Source for Residential DC Loads and EV Applications abstract
In this paper, a multi-functional rectifier for feeding residential DC loads and charging electric vehicles (EVs) is proposed that employs renewable energies (PV panels in this paper) in order to decrease energy consumption. The used active and reactive power can be controlled by using the efficient control method which is introduced. Low input current THD, controllable PF, low output voltage ripple, and perfect dynamic response are the main features of proposed converter. Additionally, it has the capability of working in different operating modes which enables it to feed the DC load and charge the connected EV’s battery, simultaneously, using grid voltage and PV panel.In order to validate features of proposed converter, all considered operating modes are analyzed and simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK software and results are analyzed.
