Abstract:
In recent years, plastic-packaging systems are widely used in packaging films application. The use of needs a number of technical requirements that have to be passed by the packages. Polyolefin polymers often shows blocking and high coefficient of friction (COF) problem during their processing or packaging end-use application. In order to satisfy this problem, antiblock agents / anti-slip agents are used in polyolefins film during processing to modify the surface characteristic of them. This paper provides a technical overview of this additives, their most important classes and the mechanism of action. Also, effective parameters in the selection of a suitable antiblock or anti-slip agent additive are polymer and slip agent type and amount, process and ambient temperature, Thermal oxidative stability and slip additive (in-) compatibility with polymer.
