Abstract:

In this paper, a design of fault-tolerant control (FTC) based on fault estimation (FE) are presented in the presence of actuator and sensor faults along with modeling uncertainty and unknown external disturbances. Since the FE and FTC controller have a bi-directional uncertain effect on each other, a new adaptive observer-based FE isfirstly proposed to reduce this effect. Secondly, the FTC is proposed to robustly stabilize the faulty system. Then, the integrated observer-based robust control problem is solved via ?∞ optimization with a single step linear matrix inequality. Finally, the validity of the integrated FE/FTC design are indicated by a tutorial example of a DC motor
