Abstract:

In simplest terms, 5G is the fifth generation of cellular networks. 5G is the next step in mobile technology that future phones and tablets are using, and its speed is comparable to current LTE networks, such as those of 3G networks. The first generation of mobile networks, known as 1G, was introduced around 1982. The system was completely analog until the 2G networks were introduced in 1991 and used the digital system. 2G networks provided mobile data in the form of GPRS and EDGE technologies. About 10 years later, 3G networks were launched that offered higher data rates than 2G networks. About 10 years later, current LTE networks became the fourth generation of networks, which we call 4G, which has little to do with the true meaning of these networks. Historically, every ten years (or slightly more), a new generation of mobile networks has been introduced. 5G networks are likely to face a leap in things like data speed. Furthermore, focus is emphasized on future reliable smart grid communication with future roadmaps and challenges to be faced. The complete work gives an in-depth understanding of 5G networks as they pertain to future smart grids as a comprehensive analysis.
