Abstract:
Oxygen-enriched combustion is one of the attractive technologies for reducing pollution due to reduction in fuel consumption. The purpose of this research is to model a membrane system to increase the concentration of oxygen and connect it to a boiler burner to investigate the effect of oxygen concentration from 21% to 55% on the fuel consumption and pollution emission in a process of constant temperature output.MATLAB software was used to perform optimization and modeling calculations.Effect of feed pressure (from 76 up to 380 cmHg) and stage cut (from 0.1 up to 0.6) on output concentration of O2 was investigated. Finally, the results of the modeling showed that combustion with oxygen-enriched air can successfully reduce the fuel consumption as well as carbon dioxide emissions.
