Hydrodynamics of Conical Spouted Beds of Binary Mixtures abstract
The hydrodynamic of conical spouted bed with binary mixtures was investigated based on the pressure fluctuations measured at different mass fractions of large particles in the bed. Effects of mass fraction of large particles and static bed height on the minimum stable spouting velocity were studied. Moreover, the power spectrum of pressure fluctuations was investigated in the presence of coarse particles and the results show that addition of coarse particles up to 20% of bed particle mass can improve the bed stability but beyond 20% of mass fractions, segregation occurs in the bed which results in poor mixing of particles.
