Morphology of Alpha-Alumina Ceramic Membrane Made by Gelcasting Method abstract
In this work a flat ceramic membrane based on α-alumina was prepared useing gelcasting method. The α-alumina average particle size is 5 μm. Ammonium polyacrylate was used as scattering agent and oral gelatin was utillized as gelatin agent. In this study, the membrane was fabricated as circular disk (58 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness) and subjected for characterization studies using SEM analysis, to evaluate the pore size distribution and membrane structure. Moreover, porosity of the ceramic was obtined 34.28% and shrinkage factor of the membrane was determined.SEM result, showed the micro distribution for pore size of the prepared membrane.
