Protection, improvement and development of renewed natural resources such as native vegetation require a comprehensive study in all aspects. An extensi~e degradation is happened in rangelands and an appropriate grazing management qtn maximize the efficiency of rangelands. Kind of livestock, season of use and appropriate grazing system must be carefully selected if a comprehensive grazing management i~ to achieve. The selection of appropriate livestock for grazing in rangelands depends. on quality (e.g. palatability) and quantity of plant species and preference value of livestock. Distancefrom water sources, topography, climate and edaphic parameters and socio-economic. issues of a given rangeland may be detenninant in livestock selection by herd managers. Firstly, composition, cover percentage and production of p]ant species w~re s1udied using Itransect-quadrat method in . Utilization ratio ~f plant species was studied, using video and weight method. Stipa arabica and Buffonia macrocarpa were the two main species with highest cover and production in the studied rangeland. According to the 'results, goat and sheep had different diet selection.
