بررسی تعیین فرمول پایه غذای مصنوعی برای پرورش واریته پلی فاژ کرم ابریشم

Domesticated silkworm, Bombyx mori L. is identified as a monophagous insect which its commercial rearing for cocoon and silk production is carried out with mulberry leaf (Morus spp.). In this study started from 1999, for the first time in Iran and by means of special strain of silkworm i.e. polyphagous strain with high response to artificial diet rearing, suitable diet formulations for whole larval rearing period were introduced. In this regard the proper technologies for preparation, processing and silkworm rearing at lab. Scales were investigated and the results were compared with those of imported artificial diet as control. On this basis, the artificial diet rearing of this polyphagous strain for whole larval duration and cocoon production is completely possible and these formulations can be utilized for more economic diet preparation as well as examination of artificial diet rearing responses of different existed silkworm varieties in Iran for further studies. To prepare the artificial diet powder, natural components such as diet mulberry leaf and defatted soybean powder and some chemicals such as sucrose, starch, Ascorbic acid, cellulose, Agar, Beta-sitoestrol, Sitric acid and Sorbic acid along with some additives including inorganic salts and vitamins were used.
