This experiment was conducted to study the effect of mixing two types of fats including soybean oil (SBO) and acid oil (AO) on the broiler growth performance. Five levels of fat mixtures SBO: FAW (100: 0, 75, 25 and 50: 50 and 25: 75 and 0: 100) and 2 levels of fat inclusion (3 & 6%) ereconsidered as experimental treatments with control group (no fat) totaling 11 experimental diets. Each treatment replicated 4 times containing 15 day old chicks in each replicate. The results suggest that 3% fats significantly (P<0.05) increased feed intake parameters better than 6% fat, especially when 100% soybean is used. In two diets with the same energy level (like diets in this experiment), higher levels of fat is not necessarily beneficial as compared to low levels of fats. The levels of 3% inclusion of 100 % proportion AO decreased feed intake significantly (P<0.05) as compared to 100 % SBO but did not cause any changes on body weight. In conclusion, 3% fat inclusion is better that 6% particularly when AO is fed. At the age of 2-4 weeks, feed intake was the lowest when 3% AO was fed.
