Robust Control of a Linear Time-Variant Model of Turbojet with Parametric Uncertainty abstract

According to the widespread use of gas turbines in various fields of industry like producing propulsive thrust in aircrafts, design of a suitable controller for jet engines has become a very interesting subject during last decades. While all real engineering systems are vulnerable to different kinds of uncertainties, robustness of controllers which have been designed for these models is a very crucial factor which should be considered carefully. In this paper, robust controller with parametric uncertainty has been designed for turbojet. The D-K iteration method is used for this purpose. As the exact model of turbojet, a nonlinear model of turbojet has been developed using Dymola software. This non-linear model has been approximated by a simpler, time variant model of turbojets called Weiner’s model. The robust controller has been designed for this simplified but fairly exact model. Responses to large steps for both Weiner and exact nonlinear model including this controller have been compromised to verify if they have acceptable responses.
