Abstract:
Self Compacting Geopolymer Concrete (SCGC) refers to the cement-free concrete which has the ability to flow under its own weight and does not need any compaction efforts to achieve full compaction. This study reviews the properties of Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS)- based SCGC including viscosity, flowability, and the passing ability of the concrete. GGBFS is a byproduct of the blast furnace which is being used in concrete production. In this research, 9 mix designs including 8M, 10M, and 12M NaOH concentrations and 350, 400, and 450 (kg/m3) GGBFS amounts were prepared to investigate the aforementioned properties of the concrete. Generally, it was noted that the workability and rheological properties of SCGC highly depend on the GGBFS content and the morality of NaOH. Hence by increasing molarity and GGBFS amount workability decreases.
