Gastric Dilation Volvulus in a dog in general practice: A case report abstract
Gastric dilatation and volvulus(GDV) is a very serious life-threatening condition seen in most commonly occurs in large to giant, deep-chested adult dogs. GDV causes medical and surgical emergencies due to pathophysiological changes. Patients with GDV usually are bloated, show symptoms of unsuccessful attempts at vomiting, difficulty in breathing, The fatality rate for GDV can be as high as 15 to 20%. successful management requires intensive emergency, surgical, and postoperative care.
