The Study and Presentation Strategic Approach to Reduce the Flood Risk Considering 2019 Flood in Aq-Qala County, Golestan Province, Iran

Flood disaster is among ones affecting many societies and countries each year, causing irreparable damages to different flood-prone regions. The golestan province is also a flood-prone region of Iran, showing various disasters in its history. The last one occurred in March 2019, affecting Aq-Qala county and its neighborhood. In this paper, different factors raising and influencing the flood risk probability in Aq-Qala region have been identified through library studies, documentations and field investigation. Finally, after noticing weaknesses of the studied region and finding out strengths, opportunities and created threats, certain approaches in strategic planning are introduced in order to reduce the flood disaster occurrence and improve the crisis management
