Abstract:
In this study the effect of using two intercoolers on the thermodynamic performance of a new modified trans-critical CO2 refrigeration cycle is investigated. The impacts of important operational parameters such as evaporator and gas cooler temperatures and gas-cooler pressure, on cycle performance have been investigated. Results are validated against those available in the other references. Comparisons of the results show that there is a good agreement between them. Obtained results showed that modified cycle improved the maximum coefficient of performance (COP max), about 20.58% compared to the internal heat exchanger two-stage trans-critical refrigeration cycles and 23.2% compared to conventional multi-inter-cooling two-stage TRCC cycle with ejector expansion device. Also total exergy destruction rate of the new modified cycle is between its rates of two conventional models.
